Attitude towards Mathematics, Problem-Solving Performance, Grade 9 StudentsAbstract
This study examined the relationship between attitudes toward mathematics and the problem-solving performance of Grade 9 students at Nangka High School during the Academic Year 2026–2027. Using a descriptive-correlational research design, data were collected from 75 randomly selected students through a researcher-made questionnaire. Frequency and percentage, weighted mean, Chi-square test, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient were employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the respondents generally exhibited a positive attitude toward mathematics (M = 3.96, Agree). Significant relationships were also found between students' attitudes toward mathematics and their demographic profile in terms of sex, age, and section. The study concludes that fostering positive attitudes toward mathematics can enhance students' problem-solving performance and overall academic achievement.
