Sustainability Communication Strategy Based on SDGs in Beverage Carton Packaging: A Case Study in the FMCG Industry in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze sustainability communication strategies implemented by beverage companies through the use of carton packaging in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method focusing on FMCG companies in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of packaging and communication messages, and document analysis over a six-month period. The findings reveal that carton packaging not only functions as an environmentally friendly solution but also serves as a strategic communication medium to strengthen brand image. The communication primarily reflects SDG 12 and SDG 13. However, challenges remain in terms of information transparency and consumer understanding.
