Career sustainability is an important issue for contract-based employees due to job insecurity and limited long-term career prospects. This study aims to examine the effect of employment commitment on career sustainability with self-perceived employability and career adaptability as mediating variables in the research model. A quantitative causal design was applied to 248 Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) in Pariaman City and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results show that employment commitment has a positive and significant effect on career sustainability, while self-perceived employability mediates the relationship. However, career adaptability does not show a significant effect and does not function as a mediator. These findings imply the importance of strengthening employment commitment and employability to support sustainable career development.
